Apple Cider Margarita

This Apple Cider Margarita is the perfect cocktail this holiday season. Really, it’s good for ANY season if you ask me! Made with only 3 simple ingredients there is really no excuse for you not to make this. It is great for entertaining, holiday meals, or just a regular ol’ Friday!

Apple cider is one of those things that automatically make you think of the holidays. It reminds me of going to an orchard and sipping on some hot apple cider while enjoying a delicious apple cider donut. Who doesn’t like an apple cider donut?! My favorite kind of apple cider is the spiced kind. There’s something so welcoming and satisfying about the warmness that comes from the cinnamon and spices.

If apple cider brings great memories and warm fuzzy feelings, then why not add a little more to that?! Bring on this Apple Cider Margarita. All you need is these 3 ingredients and maybe an optional thing or two:

-Apple Cider: highly recommend the spiced kind

-Orange Liqueur: trust me, the combo is perfect. This is my go to for any margarita.

-Tequila: I will always recommend a good quality tequila. Espolon, Cazadores, Teremana and Casa Amigos are some of my recommendations. Of course, use what you have on hand.

*Optional: also highly recommend the addition of an egg white. This will make it frothy and a little creamy. You know, if you’re feeling fancy and all. Simply add it to the shaker with everything else and shake before adding ice and shaking again.

Instead of dipping the rim in salt or, my favorite, Tajin, try dipping it in a cinnamon sugar mix. Doesn’t make it overly sweet just adds a little something special. I like to garnish it with a thinly sliced apple slice and a cinnamon stick. If you use an egg white, definitely sprinkle a little cinnamon on top for the extra wow factor. Trust me, it’s worth it when you’re feeling a little extra. Salud!
